Minerva Apps is an independent software studio based in Hartford, Cheshire. We don't build apps for clients. We don't take briefs, pitch for contracts, or work to someone else's roadmap. What we do is simpler: we find things we're passionate about, and we build the best possible tool for them.

The name comes from Minerva — the Roman goddess of wisdom, craft, and skill. That felt right. Every app we make is rooted in a genuine respect for the discipline it serves: the craft of homebrewing, the patience of the hobbyist, the satisfaction of doing something properly.

We're a small operation. No venture funding, no growth targets, no engagement metrics to chase. Just a genuine interest in building things that work beautifully and serve a real purpose. We measure success simply: does this make someone's hobby better?

Depth over breadth

We'd rather build one excellent app for a specific audience than a dozen adequate ones for everyone. Depth of thought and craft is what separates tools people love from tools people merely use.

Offline first, always

Your data is yours. Our apps are built to work without an internet connection and without any need to hand over personal information. No accounts, no servers, no tracking — just software that runs on your device.

Honest pricing

We don't do subscriptions for the sake of it. Where we charge, we charge once and fairly — a price that reflects the value of the tool rather than an attempt to extract recurring revenue from a captive audience.

Respect for the craft

The hobbies we build for have real depth — history, technique, science, community. We take them seriously. Our apps are grounded in that respect: accurate data, thoughtful features, nothing superficial.

Long-term thinking

We're not chasing an exit. We're building apps we intend to maintain and improve for years. That changes how we make decisions — stability, quality, and user trust matter more than growth at any cost.

Staying small means staying focused. We're not trying to become an agency or scale into something unrecognisable. The goal is to keep making excellent, honest apps for people who genuinely need them.
